#509 Denver Nuggets -3 over Memphis Grizzlies 7:00 PM CT

The 9-1 Nuggets are in potentially dangerous spot following up a huge win over Boston with a trip to Memphis. The Grizzlies are 3-0 at home but the wins came against the Hawks, Suns, and Wizards, teams that are a combined 7-23 this season. Memphis is also coming off a three-game road trip out west including facing the Warriors on Monday night. This home stand features three tough games that could expose the Grizzlies for a competitive start with only two surprising wins in Utah as quality results so far this season. Denver was off yesterday following big wins over Utah and Boston and the road results have been good with a 3-1 start away from home, only losing in Los Angeles. Denver plays 10 routinely with good depth to handle the up-tempo pace and the Nuggets have taken care of business with mostly convincing wins vs. the lesser teams on the schedule.

#522 Houston Rockets -10 over Minnesota Timberwolves 8:30 PM CT

Game 1 in the Houston/Minnesota series featured an unsurprising Houston win but also a deceptively close final result with Minnesota getting a shot to tie the game in the final seconds in an eventual 3-point loss. The Wolves have a formidable roster that underachieved to some extent despite 47 wins and a playoff breakthrough. Much of the late season action was played without Jimmy Butler but the Wolves will have a hard time keeping pace with the top seeded Rockets.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”newness” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

Houston didn’t play particularly well in Game 1 falling behind in the second half before a big run from James Harden. The Rockets missed 27 3-point shots for just a 27 percent performance from a team that shot 36 percent and made more than 15 3-point shots per game on the season. Houston is 35-7 at the Toyota Center and Houston is 5-0 vs. Minnesota this season with wins by 18, 18, 18, and 9 in the regular season with all of those games coming since late January. Houston has won 11 consecutive home meetings in this series with the last Minnesota win in Houston coming in 2012.

Similar to the Milwaukee/Boston series which produced a convincing Celtics win last night the Wolves played as well as they could have in Game 1, and still lost. Minnesota had a big free throw edge and a 3-point shooting edge, two factors that are very unlikely to repeat in Game 2. The Wolves were also +10 in rebounds in Game 1 while keeping the turnover count in check. The Wolves got 31 points off the bench from Derrick Rose and Jamal Crawford and there is far more room for Houston to play better in the second game of this series than there is for Minnesota, a team that is 17-24 S/U in road games on the season going 8-12 ATS vs. winning teams on the road and 1-6 ATS when dogged by 7 or more points.

#709 San Antonio Spurs +4.5 over Utah Jazz 8:05 PM CT

The Spurs haven’t looked like a Western Conference contender in recent weeks, playing without Kawhi Leonard most of the season. This matchup and situation should bring out the best in the Spurs however coming off a national TV blowout loss over the weekend and having lost to Utah in early February at home.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”nameaz” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

The Jazz have won nine in a row as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The Jazz dealt Rodney Hood at the trade deadline but now a .500 team that is just 1.5 games out of the final playoff spot Utah is a team that can keep its momentum going. This could be a challenging situation however having won a late Sunday night game in Portland last night. The Jazz mainly are an eight-man rotation right now with six players posting 29 or more minutes last night. Newcomer Jae Crowder had a strong game last night but there could be some transition for this team in the coming weeks, especially is Ricky Rubio misses any more time after sitting out last night.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”newness” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

LaMarcus Aldridge could miss this game for the Spurs with knee soreness but he has had a somewhat disappointing season and the Spurs have won by 23 and 14 in the past two games where he has sat out. Look for the Spurs to play well tonight with Utah in a potentially dangerous scheduling spot and favored modestly in this game despite being a 7-point underdog on the road nine days ago in this matchup.

Nelly’s is hitting 82% in February basketball with back-to-back huge weeks and 14-3-1 start to the month. Don’t miss our next selections or join us for an extended subscription. Big E is on a 40-24 basketball run and he expects 20* picks Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday this week while winning five of his last six 10* Biggie plays. #709 Charlotte Hornets +5.5 over Denver Nuggets 8:05 PM CT

The Hornets are 12-8 the past 20 games and there are a number of high quality wins over top teams in that stretch. Charlotte Is only three games out of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and unlike three teams currently in the field the Hornets have a positive scoring differential despite still being six games below .500.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”nameaz” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

Charlotte is just 8-15 S/U on the road but they have won five of the last seven road games and Denver could be a in a flat spot following up a huge weekend with wins over the Thunder and Spurs. The Nuggets have had four straight games against top contenders for a grueling scheduling run and Denver has lost four times at home since December 30 despite the glowing 21-7 S/U record at the Pepsi Center on the season.

The scoring differential numbers are nearly identical for these teams and the Nuggets have played a weak schedule, struggling against quality teams with a 5-11 S/U mark vs. top 10 teams and an 11-17 S/U mark vs. the top half of the league. Charlotte has won the past three meetings in this series and Denver is a losing ATS team vs. teams with a losing record this season.
