#702 Detroit Pistons -1 over Philadelphia 76ers 6:05 PM CT

The 76ers were blown out in the opener in Boston and came home with wins over two of the likely worst teams in the Eastern Conference beating Chicago, and then winning by just a single point against Orlando. Philadelphia has promise after last season’s breakthrough but could be at risk tonight in Detroit for the second road game of the season with a much more prominent game in Milwaukee tomorrow.

Detroit has also feasted on the bottom of the Eastern Conference but at 2-0 the Pistons have found ways to win both games in tight finishes. Dwane Casey is a proven regular season coach this roster has enough to work with to be a playoff threat in the Eastern Conference with Andre Drummond, Blake Griffin, and Reggie Jackson.

The 76ers were a losing ATS team on the road last season and the Pistons have an underrated home court edge going 26-16 S/U at home last season, even counting a pair of April losses with the team out of contention. Ben Simmons isn’t likely to play tonight as this won’t be a complete 76ers squad.

#503 Dallas Mavericks +7 over Detroit Pistons 6:05 PM CT

On Wednesday night a fourth quarter rally wasn’t quite enough as the Pistons lost to red hot Philadelphia and fell out of playoff contention. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak and an eight-game run with the only loss in that stretch coming in overtime at Houston. The late season run wasn’t quite enough and this could be a flat spot at home hosting a lousy Dallas team, with the home finale a more prominent game Monday against Toronto.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”newness” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

Dallas has been a competitive bad team, going 24-55 but only -2.6 in average scoring differential. The Mavericks have the fourth worst record in the NBA but they aren’t going to be able to ‘improve’ their lottery standing as Atlanta and Memphis would need to win out for Dallas to fall into the bottom three. Dallas could hurt its standing with a win as Sacramento and Orlando are within a game but this team has been playing hard in recent games with 11 points the largest margin of defeat in the past 12 games with mostly very competitive results.

Since late November Dallas is 19-8 ATS as an underdog of six or more points. Detroit is just 6-11 ATS at home vs. losing teams and the Pistons are 5-8 ATS this season when laying 6-10.5 points. Dallas has slowed the pace of play in recent weeks, allowing just over 101 points per game the past five games and the underdog points will be alluring with the ugly underdog in Detroit’s first game since being eliminated from the postseason race.

#701 Milwaukee Bucks +2 over Detroit Pistons 6:00 PM CT

In the midst of a long losing streak the Pistons made a splash ahead of the trade deadline acquiring Blake Griffin. The short terms gains were clear with a five-game winning streak but Detroit has fallen in six of the last seven, going from dangerous Eastern Conference sleeper to currently a lottery team, 3.5 games behind Miami for the final postseason spot in the East.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”nameaz” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

The Bucks still have a negative scoring differential and are a losing team on the road as a team most expected to make a major leap this season has been underwhelming. A short winning streak could close the gap in the standings however as the Bucks are only three games behind Cleveland for the #3 spot in the Eastern Conference. Milwaukee has lost the past two games by two and three points against playoff caliber competition as the stakes will be elevated tonight at the Palace.

Milwaukee has won two of three in this series on the season and Detroit is a losing ATS team at home vs. winning teams. The Pistons are 8-16 ATS this season in closely-lined games with a spread below four either way and Milwaukee is 7-3 ATS on the road vs. losing teams. The Bucks are the clearly superior offensive squad shooting nearly three percent stronger on the season and with three tight games since the break Milwaukee getting points is appealing going against a slumping Detroit squad on a ATS slide.

Close an amazing February with Nelly’s 2-for-1 offer tonight, just $15 as we hope to add two more winners to our 30-11-1 record this month. #716 Dallas Mavericks -1 over Detroit Pistons 7:35 PM CT

The Pistons have won three in a row to erase memories of a seven-game slide but this could be a dangerous game now playing in Dallas. The past two wins have come by six and four points for narrow escapes and the Pistons are only a .500 team on the road this season. Detroit’s average scoring differential is just +1.0 on the season despite being four games over .500 and sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference standings. Avery Bradley isn’t going to play tonight and he has been an underrated piece in the turnaround for the Pistons this season. Next on the schedule is a big home game with the Knicks before a long three-day layoff around Christmas weekend.

[displayProduct type=”carousel” sort=”nameaz” productnamecolor=”#ffffff” pricecolor=”#ffffff” textcolor=”#ffffff” carousel=image,title,price,button,excerpt]

Dallas is last in the Western Conference with an 8-23 record but with a 6-11 mark at home and an average scoring differential of -3.5 per game, better than seven other teams in the league. Star rookie Dennis Smith is set to return tonight after a six-game absence and Dallas has won four of the last seven games he has played in. Eight of the last nine losses for the Mavericks have come by single-digits as this has been a very competitive team since a tough first month of the season.

Dallas has played one of the very toughest schedules in the league having played the league’s top 10 teams in 17 of 31 games this season. Detroit is a below average offensive team and the efficiency numbers aren’t all that far apart for these squads despite the contrasting records. Dallas has played its best against quality teams going 10-7 ATS vs. above .500 squads including 4-2 ATS in home games and there will be an adjustment coming to the 11-4-1 ATS road record for the Pistons.
