FREE NFL PICK SUNDAY FROM THIS WEEK’s GREEN SHEET:
#280 Tennessee Titans -7.5 over Jacksonville Jaguars 12:00 PM CT
The Jaguars dealt several stars in the weeks before the season but wound up victors in Week 1. Gardner Minshew had just one incomplete pass while throwing three touchdowns to lead a comeback for the Jaguars. Jacksonville was outgained 445-241 as it was a fortunate result but catching an extra day on the turnaround while the Titans are in Denver late Monday night is a favorable set-up. Tennessee barely won that game with four missed kicks from veteran Stephen Gostkowski to leave 10 points on the field. Derrick Henry compiled solid numbers as Tennessee moved the ball conservatively, posting only 4.8 yards per play. This is a rare favorite price for the Titans but Tennessee did produce several lopsided wins after Ryan Tannehill took over last season. Posting 26 first downs against a top tier defense last week was a solid result and the Titans will be less dependent on the passing game than the Colts had to be last week.

#618 Rutgers +1.5 over Penn State 6:00 PM CT
Rutgers needs to be taken seriously in the Big Ten race. The Scarlet Knights are already 2-1 in league play with the only defeat in East Lansing while this team also has a non-conference win over Seton Hall. The overall schedule hasn’t been overly difficult but Rutgers won a Big Ten road game last week and is 10-0 at home this season with seven of those wins coming by double-digits. Losing Geo Baker to a thumb injury is a big blow for the long term hopes for the Knights but Rutgers won convincingly at Nebraska Friday and could still remain a competitive team against the middle tier teams in the conference. The interior scoring should remain strong and Steve Pikiell’s team has delivered nationally elite defensive numbers so far in his fourth season. Penn State has seven top 100 wins this season but only two would counts as high of quality as Rutgers and both of those games were in favorable close-to-home or home venues. Saturday’s three-point win in Philadelphia over Iowa featured great fortune as they trailed nearly the entire second half before watching the Hawkeyes falter at the line. Penn State only has one true road win all season and that game was nearly two months ago as this is a dangerous spot on the schedule for a team that has had several narrow wins on the season to boost the record. Penn State lost at home in this series last season while winning by only one in the road meeting and while both teams are clearly improved the Lions haven’t proven they can win Big Ten road games yet.
Nelly’s has turned in back-to-back college winners the past two days including an underdog that won by double-digits last night. We’ve hit over 60% this season and are on a 16-6 run in college basketball while plus nearly 100 stars the past three basketball regular seasons combined!
Bobby Dalton is on an 8-0 run with a perfect start in 2020 while 10-0 conference game picks so far this basketball season!
Big E is riding an 11-5 run in basketball Biggies and has 15* and 20* picks planned this week:
#834 Penn State -8 over Nebraska 6:00 PM CT
If Penn State is going to take a step forward this season and compete for a NCAA Tournament spot it is games like Tuesday’s result at Indiana that need to be turned around. The Nittany Lions fell apart in the second half to fall in Bloomington, now just 2-3 in league play despite not yet facing any of the top Big Ten teams. Penn State has lost twice at home this season but does have three top 100 wins and blasted Northwestern in the last home game by 15. 11 of 12 wins this season for the Lions have come by double-digits and there is a lot to like about the statistical profile of the team even if the past track record of the program leads to suspicion.

Penn State is 16th nationally in defensive efficiency with great numbers across the board on defense. This is also a strong outsides shooting team in what looks like it could be the breakthrough season for Pat Chambers in his seventh season in University Park. Nebraska could be feeling the same way matching Penn State at 12-6, but with a 3-2 conference record.
The losses for Nebraska have come in forgivable matchups against Michigan State and Purdue on the road for a more impressive league start in perhaps a critical sixth season for Tim Miles. Nebraska has won five of the last six but the Cornhuskers have just one road win on the season. This is a dangerous spot on the schedule following a huge home win over Wisconsin on Tuesday night and the efficiency numbers on both sides of the ball heavily favor Penn State even factoring for a lighter schedule for the Lions.
