#614 Bowling Green -12.5 over Buffalo 6:00 PM CT
At 2-19, Buffalo has fallen on incredibly tough times, only a handful of seasons removed from winning NCAA Tournament games in back-to-back seasons. So far the coaching change to former Villanova assistant George Halcovage has been a disaster with the Bulls featuring only one Division I win all season. That win came in the MAC opener with the Bills losing eight in a row and the past seven losses have all come by double-digit margins. This has been one of the worst outside shooting teams in the nation hitting below 26 percent from 3-point range yet Buffalo takes the third most three-point shots in the MAC. Buffalo has the worst defensive numbers in the conference, and this should be a good bounce-back opportunity for Bowling Green. The Falcons have lost three of the past four since starting 5-1 in MAC play but two of those losses were overtime results. Bowling Green has not dominated its MAC wins with no win by more than nine points, but Todd Simon’s squad has faced one of the most difficult MAC paths so far. The main vulnerability for Bowling Green has been 3-point defense but that may be less of a concern in this pairing and after allowing 100 points in the only meeting with Buffalo last season, this game should have the team’s attention. Simon did a nice job in seven seasons at Southern Utah and already has Bowling Green at 15-7 after inheriting a team that went 11-20 with only five MAC wins last season and this should be a good opportunity for the Falcons to play well.
