Boston College has three overtime losses included in its 2-12 ACC record. The Eagles have faced a challenging ACC path having already played Duke, Louisville, and SMU in three of the team’s seven ACC home games. This is set to be the team’s most favorable home game since a double-digit win over Miami on New Year’s Day. Boston College also beat Florida State at home, and the Eagles will catch Virginia Tech coming off Saturday’s rivalry game with Virginia. The Hokies lost by three at home in that game to snap a 3-1 run of solid results. Virginia Tech oddly has four ACC road wins this season but in a 6-8 ACC season, close game fortune has been there with five of six conference wins by three or fewer points. Virginia Tech has the worst turnover rate in the ACC and is one of the worst free throw shooting teams. Boston College is surprisingly the second best 3-point shooting team in the ACC hitting 38.5 percent and this should be an opportunity for the Eagles to seal a narrow ACC win.
