Free Pick Sunday: #473 Kansas City Chiefs -2 over Cincinnati Bengals 3:25 PM CT
As head coach of the Chiefs Andy Reid is 1-3 vs. the Bengals including two notable defeats last season. Both of those wins were quite improbable for the Bengals, trailing 28-17 at halftime in the regular season comeback win at home in Week 17. In the AFC Championship game Kansas City had 1st down at the 1-yard-line just before halftime and didn’t score to add to a 21-10 lead. The Chiefs have a narrow lead in the AFC for the #1 seed and this looks like the toughest remaining game on the schedule, though this game starts a three-game road trip for the Chiefs. Cincinnati is holding a wild card spot for the moment after a fortunate win in Nashville last week. The Bengals allowed 6.1 yards per play and pulled out a toss-up win for the second straight week to reach 7-4 even while just a few plays away from being 5-6. The Bengals will have an uphill battle to repeat in the AFC North however even after picking up a game on Baltimore last week as they are 1-3 in division games. The Bengals have a very difficult closing schedule as a playoff spot should not be assumed. This is a Chiefs team with a bit of momentum riding three straight wins and wins in five of the past six. Since the Week 8 bye week Kansas City’s defense has allowed just over 17 points per game and this is likely to be lowest favorite price on the Chiefs the rest of the season, unless Week 18 proves to be meaningless.
