Florida State made the Sweet 16 in three consecutive NCAA Tournaments in 2018, 2019, and 2021. Last season the Seminoles wound up just 17-14 for a mediocre campaign and things have gone much worse for Leonard Hamilton’s squad this season at 8-18 overall. Florida State does have six ACC wins and three of those wins were road wins including a notable upset at Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. Five ACC losses have come by single-digit margins including the past two defeats. A promising start to the season for Clemson has been derailed with three straight defeats as another underachieving season for Brad Brownell appears underway. Clemson is still in the ACC race at 10-4 but so far has faced the #12 league schedule and is one of the worst offensive teams in the conference. Clemson won by just one point in Tallahassee a few games back, getting some big breaks on the road with a significant free throw edge and over 71 percent shooting on 2-point looks. Clemson had 18 turnovers in that game and two one-point wins are included in what very nearly was a 1-6 run in the past seven games for the Tigers. This will be the largest favorite spread for Clemson in this series in a long time and Clemson is 3-8 ATS this season when laying three or more points this season. Clemson’s offense with a high turnover rate, very poor outside shooting, and league-worst offensive rebounding is difficult to trust at this price and the Seminoles still have great size appear to be playing hard even in a lost season.
