Seton Hall has lost three in a row, but those losses all came against elite Big East contenders. The losses to Creighton and Providence came by slim margins before a poor performance Saturday at Marquette. Drawing DePaul should be an ideal matchup for the Pirates to get back on track. This is a Seton Hall team with four road wins already this season and this has been one of the top Big East teams in several key areas, including offensive rebounding, 3-point shooting, and free throw success. Seton Hall is one of the two teams that have defeated Connecticut this season and DePaul is one of the worst teams in the nation, sitting at 3-17 and recently making a coaching change. DePaul is 0-9 in Big East play and eight of those nine losses have come by 13 or more points, with the only competitive loss to Georgetown, the second worst team in the Big East. DePaul has lost nine of 12 home games and all three wins have come outside the nation’s top 200. Adding fuel to Seton Hall’s case tonight is a one-point loss hosting DePaul last March, the first defeat since January 2022 in this series and just the second loss in the past nine in this series.
