Miami is 9-1 in MAC play and the Redhawks picked up a non-conference win Saturday in a tougher matchup vs. Troy. Miami is 11-1 S/U at home this season, but Toledo has won 22 consecutive games in this series. That includes a stunning 97-63 win last March in a closely lined home game for Miami. This year Miami has the team to break the streak, and Toledo has been one of the nation’s worst defensive teams despite continuing to post a solid record at 15-8 overall and 8-2 in the MAC. These teams have similar offensive numbers in conference play, but Toledo is worse across the board defensively. Miami is the top 3-point shooting team in the MAC hitting over 39 percent while the gap in the two-point scoring numbers on both sides of the ball greatly favor the hosting Redhawks. Toledo does take care of the ball and shoots well at the line, but the Rockets lost by seven in the toughest MAC road game they have faced at Akron and Miami has won 11 consecutive home games since an early November non-conference loss.
