#618 Houston -27 over Troy 7:00 PM CT
Houston having three losses already is a surprise, but the defeats came against quality teams away from home and two defeats went to overtime. Houston has only played three of eight games outside the nation’s top 100, and the Cougars obliterated those teams winning by 57, 46, and 36 points. That includes a win over Louisiana in November from the Sun Belt like tonight’s opponent Troy. Houston produced a 28-point win over a major conference foe Butler on Saturday and with more than a week off after this game there will be no reason to let up Tuesday night. Troy is also 5-3 but the Trojans do not own a top 200 win. Turnovers have been an issue for the Trojans and while the losses in November to Arkansas and Oregon were closer than tonight’s spread, this is likely to be a challenging matchup for a team that hasn’t played since Dec. 1. The 3-point shooting results for Troy on both sides of the ball have been poor and Troy doesn’t have the size that could potentially give a smaller Houston team problems. Expect turnover and 3-point shooting edges to lead Houston to a blowout win tonight.
