This could be a dangerous game for Gonzaga as Saturday’s game at Saint Mary’s is a season-making game for a Bulldogs team that is on the NCAA Tournament bubble. San Francisco led at times in the second half of the 77-72 loss in Spokane, a game Gonzaga had 20 more free throw attempts and a 15-7 edge in turnovers. Despite the numbers from the first meeting, San Francisco is #1 in the WCC in creating turnovers and gets to the line more frequently than Gonzaga. San Francisco is 11-3 in WCC with the loss at Gonzaga while going 0-2 vs. Saint Mary’s including a four-point loss with the WCC leaders last week. This should be an alluring opportunity for the Dons playing at the Chase Center where the Warriors play. San Francisco and Gonzaga have fairly similar numbers, with Gonzaga a better 3-point shooting team but this is a Gonzaga team that takes far fewer 3-point shots than most recent Bulldogs teams under Mark Few. San Francisco hasn’t won S/U in this series in 12 seasons, but they are 4-1 ATS in the past five. Gonzaga has been a lousy ATS team this season including losing ATS in the past three games ahead of this game as this isn’t the caliber of team we’ve been accustomed to in recent years.
