Free Pick: #739 William & Mary +1 over Hampton 6:00 PM CT
William & Mary has stumbled to 4-6 in CAA play but the Tribe has drawn a difficult path and owns a notable win over UNC Wilmington on the road. William & Mary is one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the conference and while the team is just 9-14 overall, that is a big leap of improvement from being a 5-win squad last season. Hosting Hampton in January William & Mary won by 16 in a comfortable result with a huge rebounding edge offsetting a turnover deficit. Hampton is just 2-8 in CAA play and 5-17 overall but is 2-1 in the past three games. This will be a third straight home game for the Pirates after splitting two close games last week. These are two of the worst defensive teams in the conference but there is an eight-percent edge in 3-point shooting for William & Mary in addition to an edge in 3-point defense for the Tribe. Hampton does take good care of the ball but has delivered many uncompetitive defeats with six of eight CAA losses by 12 or more points. A 1-10 S/U road record may scare some off William & Mary but the Tribe have wins in five of the past six meetings between these schools including a pair of road wins.
