#890 Seattle -7.5 over Utah Valley 8:00 PM CT
Utah Valley picked up a win last Saturday back at home, but this will be the fourth road game in the past five for the Wolverines. Utah Valley won its first road game of the season back on November 9 in overtime at Sam Houston State. The Wolverines are 0-8 S/U in road games since, including losing all four conference road games, even falling against Utah Tech and UT Rio Grande Valley, who both sit near the bottom of the WAC standings. A trip to Seattle will be daunting and this is a team with a high turnover rate and some of the nation’s worst 3-point shooting numbers, as the Wolverines lack appealing heavy underdog traits. Seattle has a very goo defensive profile this season and while the Redhawks are only 4-4 in WAC play, they have taken on a difficult conference path so far and two of the four losses were road defeats in overtime. There is some risk following-up a big win over Grand Canyon last weekend, but this is the only game for Seattle in an 11-day span. Seattle is also 10-2 S/U at home this season and one of those losses was a double-overtime loss as a few plays here and there could push Seattle to a much stronger record with all eight losses this season by six or fewer points. Seattle has seven wins by at least 10 points as convincing wins and close losses have been the most common results and Seattle has two top 100 wins this season. This is a significant adjustment in price from a year ago as Seattle lost as a home underdog last February hosting Utah Valley but after losing the early season meeting in back in November in Orem, this should be a motivated team looking to keep its current momentum and build on borderline elite defensive numbers.
