#510 New Orleans Pelicans +1 over Sacramento Kings 7:10 PM CT
The Kings are 8-4 this season looking to backup last season’s breakthrough campaign. Sacramento is 4-1 at home but just 4-3 on the road and the Kings have a modest average scoring differential at +2.6. Sacramento owns the current longest winning streak in the Western Conference at six, but this is likely to be a difficult follow-up game to Sunday’s win in Dallas. The Kings put up 129 points while shooting over 53 percent to pull away in the second half but after three high-profile games to start this road trip, playing two in New Orleans this week could provide a challenge, particularly with a game in Minnesota Friday and then a home game with the Warriors early next week. The 6-7 Pelicans just lost by one-point to Minnesota on Saturday and have recent home wins over Dallas and Denver. New Orleans has played a top five schedule this season already facing six games vs. the top 10 teams in the league and 10 games vs. the top 16. In contrast the Kings have faced only two games vs. the league’s top 10 teams for a much lighter path at this point in the season. New Orleans had a 136-104 home win in this series last February and while CJ McCollum is out right now, the Pelicans have received excellent recent contributions from rookie Jordan Hawkins stepping into a bigger role with 47 points the past three games. Five starters all played at least 31 minutes for the Kings Sunday and with Kevin Huerter and Trey Lyles possibly out tonight the Kings don’t have ideal depth for tonight’s game.
