#902 Cincinnati Reds (Minor) -135 over Pittsburgh Pirates (Wilson) 5:40 PM CT
Mike Minor has been effective in his last three starts going 2-0 with a 2.60 ERA. He has split two decisions with the Pirates this season but Pittsburgh has just a .651 team OPS vs. left-handers on the season one of the more left-handed lineups in MLB, going 17-31 in games vs. left-handed starters. Cincinnati has been hitting well with a .763 team OPS in the past two weeks while quietly 7-4 in the past 11 games, pulling away from the Pirates to avoid last place in the NL Central standings. Take away the first two home stands of the season and the Reds are a more respectable 28-32 at home and Cincinnati is 7-5 head-to-head with Pittsburgh outscoring the Pirates 64-35. Pittsburgh is just 8-26 since early August and Bryse Wilson continues to disappoint with a 6.11 ERA and a 5.9 K/9. Pittsburgh also has a 6.80 bullpen ERA in the past 10 games. Laying this price with Reds is certainly carries some risk but these teams appear much farther apart right now than the season splits suggest.
