#953 Cincinnati Reds (Singer) +105 over Miami Marlins (Alcantara) 12:10 PM CT

The Marlins held off the Reds last night for a 4-3 win with four relievers each throwing an inning. Miami is 8-7 at home this season and takes three straight wins into this series finale before heading west. Sandy Alcantara was the 2022 NL CY Young winner, but he was injured for all of 2024 after a mediocre 2023 season. Four starts into 2025, his K/9 is 6.8 next to a 5.2 BB/9 and his ERA has ballooned to 7.27, even with three of his four starts this season at home where his career splits are significantly stronger. The Miami bullpen owns a 4.28 bullpen ERA for the season with a 1.41 WHIP. Both teams have been hitting well vs. right-handers this season but Brady Singer is on pace for a career best season in his first year with the Reds. Singer has always had great potential but wasn’t consistent in his time with the Royals. His K/9 is 10.1 this season in four starts and despite the losses to start this series, the Reds have received good starting efforts the past two days to keep the bullpen in order. While the Reds are not known for pitching, on the season Cincinnati has allowed 1.3 fewer runs per game than the Marlins this season. Cincinnati is a half-game worse in record compared with Miami right now but the gap in run differential is massive with the Reds +28 and the Marlins -18. Even if you take out Sunday’s 24-run outburst from Cincinnati, the Reds are still 24 runs superior to Miami so far this season.
