#921/922 UNDER 9 Minnesota Twins (Bundy) at Kansas City Royals (Greinke) 7:10 PM CT

It has been a demoralizing 6-12 September for the Twins with Monday’s loss in Cleveland making it losses in four of five to the AL Central leaders in a huge series for a clear end of the road moment for Minnesota, now seven games out with 15 to play despite leading the division most of the season. Dylan Bundy has turned in a nice comeback season however and he has pitched well the past two months minus one bad start vs. Cleveland. In seven of his past eight starts he has allowed two or fewer runs while the Minnesota bullpen has decent recent results despite a few notable failures. Kansas City is back at home after losing five of six on the last road trip, including scoring just five total runs while getting swept in Minneapolis last week. Zack Greinke has only four wins in 23 starts this season and he has a 4.73 ERA vs. Minnesota this season. Only one of those starts was at home however and Greinke has been excellent in Kansas City with a 1.93 ERA in over 60 innings at home. He has a 3.07 ERA since the All-Star break as he has proven to still be capable of providing effective outings. Three of the past five games between these teams have been shutouts with the past two series between these teams averaging just 6.2 runs per game combined. In the past two weeks the Twins have a .661 team OPS while Kansas City has a .562 team OPS with both teams hitting below .240 in the 10-game splits. This could be a fatigued Twins team coming off a disappointing series while the Royals are back at home after a road trip as Tuesday’s game has the look of a lower-scoring contest.
