#958 Colorado Rockies (Lambert) +130 over San Francisco Giants (Brebbia) 7:40 PM CT
The Rockies had a brutal first month of the season, but Colorado is 18-15 since April 30 with a positive scoring differential. Colorado is now above .500 at home and 8-3 in the past 11 home games. The Rockies struggled against the Giants last season going 5-14 but this will be a favorable opportunity in the first series of the season between these NL West rivals. San Francisco has dropped five of the past seven games as the lineup has cooled off, averaging just 3.4 runs per nine the past five games. Peter Lambert will make his first start of the season tonight and he has posted a 9.8 K/9 as a reliever. He has allowed five home runs this season, but the Giants are just 19-24 vs. right-handed starters while an off-day Monday and seven innings from Kyle Freeland Sunday leaves the Rockies in good bullpen shape. John Brebbia is opening for the Giants, but Sean Manaea should be the primary pitcher today. The lefty had brutal numbers this season with a 5.89 ERA as he has struggled with walks and home runs allowed. Manaea owns a 4.79 career ERA at Coors Field and the Rockies are a top eight batting team in the NL and a team that has averaged 5.3 runs per game at home. This is an attractive home underdog price for a Colorado team that has been playing much better in recent weeks than the season numbers suggest.
