#970 Baltimore Orioles (Young) -110 over Cincinnati Reds (Greene) 3:05 PM CT
The Reds reached 10-10 last night with an 8-3 win over the Orioles with the scoring barrage led by three early home runs. Despite the lopsided loss, the Orioles used only three relievers last night to remain in good shape for the weekend. Baltimore has disappointed with an 8-11 record so far this season, but the lineup has scored least three runs in six straight games and on the season, Baltimore has averaged 5.4 runs per nine vs. right-handers. Hunter Greene has been a solid option for the Reds but his 0.98 ERA so far in four 2025 starts won’t last. His BABIP is .175 right now and he has been fortunate to allow just one home run in nearly 28 innings given his ultra-high flyball rate. This will be the MLB debut for Brandon Young which can provide some risk, but Young has looked the part in AAA with a 9.4 K/9 and a 2.75 ERA in three starts after strong returns in the minor leagues last season. He will be an unfamiliar foe for the Reds lineup and Baltimore has an excellent bullpen with a 2.93 season ERA as well. While Cincinnati has outperformed Baltimore in the small early season sample in 2025, these teams were 14 wins and 82 runs apart last season as this is a price one would not have expected in an Orioles home game even just a few weeks ago.
