#956 Colorado Rockies (Feltner) -105 over Cincinnati Reds (Abbott) 7:40 PM CT
The Rockies have averaged 7.0 runs per nine vs. left-handed pitching in the past 10 games. Andrew Abbott is struggling to match his success from last season even if he is still holding a 3.29 ERA. Last season his K/9 was 9.9, this season it is just 6.6 for a major change in the wrong direction while his FIP is currently 4.81. Abbott was hit hard in his last start, and this will be his first start in a difficult Coors Field environment. The Reds have a stronger bullpen than the Rockies, but Cincinnati also had a significant workload over the weekend in a tight series with the Cubs. Colorado has 13 home wins this season while the Reds have only 12 road wins and these teams are only 4.5 games apart in the NL standings. Ryan Feltner has posted adequate home numbers this season and he has three quality starts in his last six outings. Cincinnati has been held to five or fewer runs in eight consecutive games while the maligned Colorado pitching staff has allowed four or fewer runs six times in the past nine games.
