Tulane is coming off back-to-back losses to slide from 5-1 in AAC play to 5-3. One of the losses was an understandable miss vs. highly ranked Houston while on Saturday the Wave fell in a tough overtime result at Tulsa. This will be a second straight road game for the Wave but Tulane has road wins at Temple and SMU. Tulane plays at one of the fastest paces in the nation but has a nationally elite turnover rate. This is also an over 81 percent free throw shooting team and a team that scores very efficiently inside as there is a lot to like about Tulane’s ability to win close games even if it was a losing result in the most recent contest. Wichita State was on the other end of a narrow escape Sunday, winning at SMU by two points. A lot went right for the Shockers with 32 free throw attempts and 16 turnovers from SMU. That won’t be a likely scenario against Tulane and Wichita State is without a single top 100 win right now. The 3-4 AAC record for the Shockers includes wins by a combined total of 10 points while Wichita State has five home losses this season. This is a pairing of the #1 effective field goal rate team in the conference vs. the #9 effective field goal rate team with a near-even price as Tulane has great appeal for a bounce-back opportunity tonight.
