Free Pick Sunday

NFL Week 16 features a big Sunday schedule with several notable playoff scenarios.

Big E has a 15* Game of the Month today while Bobby Dalton has lined up FIVE selections in a High Five 3/5 offer.

Trios are available from Point Train and Maximum, while Nelly’s has a 2-for-1 offer Sunday.

Don’t miss basketball opportunities with Nelly’s starting our NBA season 1-0 yesterday while Big E and Bobby Dalton have been off to steady starts in college action.

FREE PICK SUNDAY #473 Atlanta Falcons +11 over Kansas City Chiefs 12:00 PM CT

The Chiefs have won nine in a row but it was another unconvincing final score last week. That was a tough matchup in New Orleans and a fourth road game in the past five games. This home game might provide a better opportunity with the Falcons pouring a lot into last week’s home date with Tampa Bay, only to find a familiar fate. Atlanta is 4-10 but +2 in net scoring this season. Three of the past four Atlanta losses and five losses this season have come vs. elite teams and the Falcons have allowed just 21 points per game over the past four road games. The Chiefs have struggled to pull away from losing teams in the past two home games with single-score wins in now six consecutive games on the 9-0 run since Week 6. The Chiefs have not technically clinched the #1 seed in the AFC yet but the scenarios that would need to align have such a low probability that there is not going to be any urgency to push things this week. For Atlanta in a lost season this is an opportunity to face the champions and this squad has had several commendable showings vs. top teams this season and the numbers and personnel of a much better team than its record.

FREE PICK SUNDAY: #352 Atlanta Falcons +6.5 over Tampa Bay Buccaneers 12:00 PM CT

These division rivals will meet twice in the final three weeks with Atlanta having won six of the past seven meeting in this series. The Buccaneers got a big win last week in the NFC picture with a 12-point win over Minnesota in a pairing of wild card threats. Tom Brady had a clean game but the offense was limited while Tampa Bay benefited from a brutal kicking performance from Minnesota with 10 points left off the board on kicks alone. The Buccaneers are still just 2-3 in the past five games and while this team has won three straight road games they have no road wins vs. current playoff teams. Atlanta isn’t headed to the playoffs but the Falcons are a capable team that has played well since the coaching change going 4-4. No foe has topped 27 points on Atlanta in the last nine games even while the team has faced formidable offensive teams the past four weeks and has allowed only 71 points in those games. Matt Ryan has struggled and the running game has been weak but in a lost season with changes ahead the Falcons have three prominent games to close the season and odds are they pull off at least one upset in that run.

FREE PICK SATURDAY #211 Minnesota +12.5 over Wisconsin 3:00 PM CT

Minnesota won the Axe in the last trip to Madison with an upset in 2018 against a dysfunctional Badgers team that faded late in the year, featuring some similarities to this year’s disappointing Wisconsin team. Last year Wisconsin spoiled Minnesota’s bid for an outright Big Ten West title with a convincing win in Minneapolis. The final score in last year’s game was a bit misleading as the yardage was relatively close and P.J. Fleck has played well vs. the Badgers and Paul Chryst going back to a strong Cotton Bowl effort while with Western Michigan. Wisconsin is challenging to support in its current form riding three straight losses with a depleted offensive attack, last week playing without the top two WRs and their starting RB. Wisconsin has also have faced three of the best Big Ten defenses in those games, while Minnesota is at the other end of the spectrum. The 28-7 loss for Wisconsin last week was one of the worst of the Paul Chryst era though the defense did its part and it was a 7-point game late in the third quarter. Statistically there is an easy case for the Badgers particularly considering 4.5 yards per play allowed compared to 7.0 allowed by these defenses respectively. Add that Wisconsin was just a bigger home favorite vs. Indiana two weeks ago and this line doesn’t make a great deal of sense. That is the worry however as this is a shorthanded Wisconsin team that has seen its season goals dissolve with three straight ugly defeats and now is a team laying double-digits despite scoring a combined total of 20 points the past three games. Minnesota is riding back-to-back wins to trend upward and may warrant this type of a pricing adjustment in this rivalry game.

FREE PICK SUNDAY: #469 Los Angeles Rams -2.5 over Arizona Cardinals 3:05 PM CT

The Rams have won and covered in all six meetings of this series since Sean McVay took over in 2017 with Arizona scoring a combined total of only 56 points. This now feels like a possible elimination game as while there may be room for both teams in the NFC playoffs, the race is getting crowded. Kyler Murray may not be 100 percent healthy as teams have been able to hold him in check of late though the past five games on a 2-3 run for Arizona have all been single-score results. Back at home Arizona has some promise after consecutive road losses but the Rams are in need of a bounce-back outing after losing at home to San Francisco last week. These teams will meet again in Week 17 and while the numbers for Jared Goff have been rough in the past month with six November interceptions, he has faced several top defenses in that run and he had huge numbers with no interceptions in two games vs. Arizona last season. The Cardinals held New England to only 179 total yards last week and still lost but they will also be a popular home underdog this week despite both Arizona quality home wins this season being incredibly fortunate results. This team could very easily be below .500 and it has started to show of late. With this line dipping below -3 the Rams are worth a game day look.

Total of the Week

We were unable to fit our Total of the Week in the newsletter this week – here is a NFL total selection for Sunday’s schedule:

#253/254 OVER 49.5 Arizona Cardinals at New England Patriots 12:00 PM CT

Surprisingly the ‘under’ is 7-3 in Arizona games this season but three of the past four have hit ‘over’ and the past four games have averaged nearly 62 points per game despite facing four winning teams in that span. Seattle’s struggling pass defense is included in two of those games but het Cardinals have reached 30 points six times in the past nine games while scoring a minimum of 21 points in every single game this season. New England’s offense has shown some life of late as the offensive line has worked its way to being one of the better AFC units. The Patriots have outrushed foes in three straight games while posting over 400 yards in two of the past three games. It is New England’s decline defensively that has taken the Patriots from a top AFC threat to a non-playoff team more so than the switch from Tom Brady to Cam Newton. New England is allowing 6.4 yards per play this season and 8.4 yards per pass attempt as Arizona seems likely to hit some big plays this week. The Cardinals are allowing 4.6 yards per rush this season as both defenses have vulnerability at the opposing offense’s strength. This total has bounced around a bit but a number right around 50 seems fair for this contest and for a late November game in the Northeast the weather looks exceptional with no wind and a game time temperature in the low 50s.

Be sure to join Nelly’s for our NFL 2/3 Sunday – we hit 2 of our 3 college picks Friday and Saturday for a 10-2 November run in college football.

Big E swept the board yesterday with 10* and 20* winners – get his next 10* Biggie play for Sunday!

Maximum Sports and Point Train have three game packages for Sunday’s Week 12 schedule.

Bobby Dalton will have NFL picks coming soon, delivering a 10* winner on Thursday to start Week 12.
