As a home underdog in that game Sacred Heart made 12 3-point shots and were +7 in turnovers but lost to the MAAC co-leaders as the visiting team was handed 30 free throw attempts in the game, with Quinnipiac posting a 13-3 edge in free throw scoring in the final 10 minutes of the game. Sacred Heart had one of its worst games of the season at Siena in an 18-point loss in January as this matchup should be motivating for the host. Siena had a terrific outside shooting game in that contest to make a big second half rally in a game Sacred Heart led by 12 points at one point in the first half. Siena has lost back-to-back games and is 0-6 S/U in conference road games this season even losing to Niagara, Iona, and Rider away from home. The Saints have gone 3-0 in overtime games this season yet are still just 11-14 and Siena’s average defense will face a Sacred Heart squad that ranks #1 in the MAAC in offensive efficiency. Sacred Heart is a significantly stronger 3-point shooting team in this matchup despite Siena having a great outside shooting game in the first meeting between these teams. Siena has drawn a more difficult conference path than Sacred Heart but the Pioneers appear to have a stronger late season trajectory and should deliver in this bounce-back revenge spot early on Sunday.
