Marist is 11-2 this season and the 4-0 start in Metro play has come through a tough path, already defeating Mount St. Mary’s and Quinnipiac. Two overtime wins boost the record, and the Red Foxes don’t have a top 200 win, but winning at Richmond early in the season is a nice result and Marist delivered a win in last weekend’s big game at home in a pairing of two of the top teams in the league. Fairfield has struggled this season at 6-9 though the Stags are 2-2 in league play. One of those wins came two days ago hosting Iona to break a five-game slide. Fairfield is 1-6 S/U on the road this season, however and the past three losses have all come by double-digit margins. The win over Iona Friday was just the second top 300 win of the season for the Stags, who look on pace for a big fall after winning 24 games for Chris Casey last season in his first season at Fairfield. The contrast in the defensive results is significant in favor of the host on Sunday with Marist nearly eight percent better in 3-point defense and nearly 10 percent better in 2-point defense this season.
