Nelly’s Offers Saturday:

#519 Portland Trail Blazers +7 over San Antonio Spurs 7:40 PM CT

Portland is only 9-18 this season and the Blazers have lost nine of the past 10 road games. Most of those losses have been competitive games, however, including the three of the past four losses coming by single-digit margins. The Blazers have faced one of the NBA’s most difficult schedules at this point in the season, but Portland has four wins vs. the league’s top 10 teams. San Antonio is 14-13 overall for a much better record but the Spurs have faced a weak overall path and are only 3-6 vs. top 10 teams. San Antonio enters this game off an overtime result Thursday winning against Atlanta and it may be difficult to move to 3-0 vs. Portland in the season series. The Blazers lost 118-116 hosting San Antonio last Friday in a late game meltdown as the Blazers led by as many as 17 in the 4th quarter as this will be a matchup Portland will embrace, looking to close out a win. The Spurs are just 3-4 ATS as a home favorite this season and 0-3 ATS when laying more than four points. San Antonio has not won a game by more than seven points since November 26 and has only five wins by more than 10 points all season. With 14 wins already after only 22 all last season, the Spurs are clearly having a step-forward season, but this is still a team with a negative scoring differential and the record is built on playing 17 of 27 games at home without many games vs. top competition yet. Portland has battled early season injuries for some inconsistency through a difficult schedule, but Deandre Ayton is back and Anfernee Simons is playing at an All-Star level while Shaedon Sharpe has also developed into a quality starter as this cane be a more competitive team than the current record suggests.
