The home games for LSU have been against four of the best teams in the conference however with the Tigers beating Arkansas in the conference opener before taking losses to Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee. Texas Tech is winless at 0-8 in Big XII play and the Red Raiders just failed in what was one of the most favorable home games of the conference season, losing by 15 on Wednesday to West Virginia in a battle at the bottom of the league. Turnovers are a glaring problem for the offense and there is nothing in the non-conference resume that suggests Texas Tech will dig itself out of the basement in the Big XII. Texas Tech has not defeated a team ranked as high as LSU’s borderline top 100 grade all season, even with LSU considered one of the weaker teams in the SEC due to the current slide. LSU in contrast has three top 125 wins and the defensive numbers for LSU against the 3-point shot offer a significant advantage for the Tigers in comparing these teams. In this pairing of squads on losing streaks, LSU has some life as a home underdog even if the ratings for Texas Tech appear stronger thanks to the quality of the Big XII overall but with the Red Raiders producing zero wins of this caliber all season long as the Red Raider are getting too much credit for its opposition and a few relatively close losses without ever getting the job done to produce a quality win.
