FREE PICK SATURDAY : #703 Montana State -6 over St. Thomas 7 PM CT

Montana State has rallied from a 1-3 start to the season to reach 6-4, posting the highest quality win of their season so far on Tuesday hosting North Dakota State with a 68-49 result. This is a road game but the Bobcats have only played two home games all season for a well-tested group. Montana State is a top 20 3-point shooting team nationally hitting just below 40 percent and this is a high volume 3-point shooting team that should have significant advantages against a very small St. Thomas group. A new Division I entrant this season St. Thomas has gone 4-5 but only one win was a top 300 result and in the past two top 200 caliber games the Tommies fell by double-digits. St. Thomas is playing just its second home game of the season as appreciable home court edge has not been earned and the lone home win was not against a Division I team. St. Thomas is an over 40 percent 3-point shooting team but the Tommies won’t get the same quality of shots off in this pairing. While St. Thomas has shown impressive offensive numbers in the transition, this team had graded as one of the very worst defensive teams in the nation and if Parker Bjorklund misses this game the Tommies will send out a roster with one player above 6’4”. Montana State is a Big Sky contender and a team that won 10 games away from home last season while featuring great veteran experience with mostly returning contributors from last season. This will be a 3-point shooting contest but St. Thomas will be towered over at four of five positions on the court in this pairing and the higher quality looks will come for the road team.
