FREE PICK SUNDAY OVER 55 Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions 3:25 PM CT

While both wins for Green Bay in this series last season came by narrow margins on late scores, the Packers dominated the Week 2 home meeting in this rivalry with a 42-21 result. Green Bay had a 7.4 to 5.3 edge in yards per play with a balanced attack and the dominant result was even with two early botched red zone chances for the Packers. Green Bay seems likely to post a big number again this week while Detroit may have a revived offense under Darrell Bevell with a more aggressive approach and nothing to lose as he has little chance to retain this job. Detroit’s offense could have some success this week as Green Bay doesn’t have a formidable defense and even with some injuries the Lions have posted 59 points the past two games. Both teams have key players likely to be absent on defense in this game and while this is a high total, these teams reached 63 in the first meeting and five of the past six Detroit opponents have scored at least 27 despite facing only one winning team in that span. Green Bay has allowed late production in each of the past four games as this isn’t a team that is closing out games emphatically but Green Bay has scored in the 30s in each of the past three road games and the dome setting games for Rodgers have also provided a big boost in his numbers.
