FREE PICK SATURDAY FROM THE GREEN SHEET: #360 Rutgers +12 over Penn State 11 AM CT

The only recent win for Rutgers in this series came back in 1988 as the Knights were also victors in the initial contest more than 100 years ago. Rutgers has covered as a heavy underdog each of the past three seasons though this year’s spread will be much lighter with Penn State looking up at Rutgers in standings. The 2-4 Knights have been revived and the record comes with losses to Indiana and Ohio State, perhaps the best two teams in the conference. Both teams could easily have a stronger record with several narrow defeats but this set-up could be challenging spot for Penn State with a second straight road game after finally breaking the winless start and beating a prominent team on the road, even in a down year for Michigan. There isn’t much allure for the Lions as turnovers remain common and the running game isn’t likely to have success in this game.
