Greg Schiano certainly carried some baggage but Rutgers hoped he could recreate the rise for the program he delivered in the 2000s. For a program that last won a Big Ten game in 2017, Schiano deliver in Week 1 with an upset over Michigan State and the Knights did what many past Schiano teams have done, stop the run, holding MSU to 1.3 yards per carry. Rutgers didn’t do a lot on offense and getting seven turnovers makes winning much easier. Indiana would normally be a fade squad after a dramatic win over Penn State. The Hoosiers were fortunate in many ways as they were outgained 488-211 while Penn State scored when they could have taken a knee, allowing Indiana a miracle comeback chance.
